Thompson Ranch Ride 2007 Album
TWHAO Raises Money for the Cure in Warner, OK
It's been a long day but I'd like every one to know that we had better than 50 riders in Warner today. We had several
donations. In addition to the money from T-Shirt sales and ride cost we raised $1000. I think that's pretty good for one
ride. Plus it gives us something to shoot for next year. We didn't even get a chance to hold our silent auction so more
money will be coming in when the donated items sell.
Let me be the 1st to announce that on October 4, 2008, we will once again be riding the Thompson Ranch. This time
though we are going to arrange for a free lunch (at least we hope so!). Hope you all can make it; it was a beautiful day,
fun ride with a lot of fun people.

Polly didn't send us many pictures, but did get us published in two national gaited horse magazines. See the info
below. Thanks for the great articles!

A Rider's Response
Polly, that is great news! You and Laurel and the other
sponsors did a wonderful job of organizing the ride.
There were a lot of very thoughtful little touches that
"made" the ride, such as hauling our coolers out to the
lunch spot, holding lunch in an area with shade and
good places to tie our horses, and giving people an
option of two different routes, one through the canyon
and one around it. It was nice that there were several
spots to water on the trail since it was humid and
warm. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. This
was his new horse's debut on a group ride, and Azzie
took it all in stride, allowing us to take in and enjoy the
lovely scenery and good company.
We had two more people who were supposed to
come with us; unfortunately one picked up an untimely
cold and the other chose to go on vacation to South
Padre. So maybe we can get them there next year.
Glad there's going to be a next year, and can't wait to
hear what the total funds for all the rides this year
were. I carried my list of honors and memorials in my
saddle pack and also was carrying lists for two more
non-riding friends - can we still turn in names?
Anyway, good job ladies, and Deb you should be very
proud of what's been accomplished. I'm sure it's just
the beginning.
