The day started gloomy, but turned wonderful!
Virginia Suydam and Shelly Barnett with lots of help from the Bad Girls Trail Riding Club members in the Stillwater
area put on a wonderful ride. This is Shelly's email to Debbie Briggs:
We had a great showing for the ride. By nightfall Friday we had 16 trailers parked. At 7am Saturday a few more had
settled in. We packed the park with riders and horses all in PINK. Our caterer showed up at 8am serving breakfast.
Several riders rode out on their own. Rose Stewart read the Prayer at 10am. We gathered to ride on either the long
ride lead by Bad Girls Lori Struve and Rindy Mason riding the pink trail or the short ride lead by Bad Girl Shelly
Barnett with drag ridden by Bad Girl Virginia Suydam and her mother, Jenny, on the yellow trail. Bad Girls Leora
Barrows, Rose Stewart and Sandy Murphy continued to collect $$$, check coggins and offer assistance to more
riders coming in later that morning.
Lunch was ready when the rides returned to the trailers. After eating lunch Rose, Leora, Sandy and Shelly went for a
relaxing afternoon ride. Lori and Rindy went back out with a few riders too.
All in all we had a wonderful day not too hot or rainy. We lead 40 riders and had no mishaps on or off the trail. We
have collected $1425.00 as of Saturday evening. We may have more donations coming in.
We are already making plans for next year. Deb, this is such an awesome idea. I have meet some really great gals
doing this and look forward to building friendships with them. Thank you Deb for the opportunity to give back and
thank you Virginia, Sandy, Leora, Rose, Lori and Rindy for your help and support. Bad Girls Rock!!!!
Over 100 riders showed up throughout the day to have a fantastic time. How do we know the amount? The
coordinator bought and passed out 100 Hooves for a Cure Ride buttons from the CafePress Store. And there were
many in PINK with very PINK horses to match!
